Description:

On fallen trunk - I'm fairly sure it was an old beech as there were a lot in the area and a lot of beech leaf mould. Faintly slimy cap, very short - if any - stems with gills running a long way down them

Should be under category Fungi

You might have this correctly identified (my ability to recongise fungi is extremely limited), but you're more likely to get informed commentary if you change the category.
