Description:

12 mm long amphipod similar to Sand Hopper. Dark grey while alive; Brownish when dried out.

Land Hopper - Terrestrial amphipod.

I have now posted a photo although it is not very clear.
It was found in a damp garden at 9,Gilgal Terrace, Pembroke Dock. SM968024. It was in a shady spot 3 metres from the remains of a former garden pond. 30 metres above sea level. 250 metres from tidal water. Four of them were seen in damp humus when 2 months old garden rubbish
(prunings) were removed.
