At Stoer Lighthouse looking for cetaceans, saw none but this Painted Lady appeared so not a bad day.

Painted lady

These beautiful butterflies can come over from the Continent in vast numbers. I once saw a cloud of thousands, it took five minutes for them to fly over a road. I stopped to watch but most people just drove through, some with their wipers going as though they were driving through a rain cloud. All this did was smear dead butterflies all over the windscreen!
