Wild plant found in Snowdonia, Wales - What is it ?!

Observed: 12th August 2012 By: PaulFigg

I have performed a quadrat study in snowdonia, Wales and come across this wild plant.
It was very abundant throughout the small area I surveyed.
I found it rather exposed and on a hill. All specimens were of a short height = 1-2cm.
I have had great difficulty trying to identify it and so would greatly appreciate your help.
Thank you.
Look forward to your replies! :)

Bryophyte tag

I am requesting that you add the tag Bryophyte as this will act as a further aid to its likely ID by virtue of attracting those who specialise in mosses and liverworts. Thanks in advance,
