Observed: 22nd April 2010 By: SueCrozier-Welch
Gorgeous Cowslips.jpg
Description:

Amongst a bank of ordinary Cowslips, were these taller, more vigorous and quite beautiful hybrids (I assume). I have never seen Cowslips like these ones before, has anyone else?

Hybrid?

There are many in the garden here - grown from seed passed to me as coloured cowslips. There are also many polyanthus here but seedling coloured cowslips are still common.
They come in every shade from intense yellow through oranges to deep red, plus or minus contrasting edges to the petals.
This one could be entirely natural mutation, or not.
