I went back to Rose and found that I had completely misunderstood the information about the flower heads and fruits. I had thought that the female heads formed above the male ones, rather than the other way around - must pay closer attention to the descriptions - hence my apparently odd comment about female heads not being present.

Grateful for your feedback, since it made me re-examine what I had thought.
