Greening of spring

'Plantwatch' in yesterday's Guardian had a note about the European Space Agency where one can view the green wave of vegetation from the chlorophyll of young leaves which is sweeping north throughout Britain as spring finally arrives:

And then the Woodland Trust is looking at whether ash is coming into leaf before oak, a rare event in the last 45 years, so if you do have early sightings of these tree leaves contact; tell them which of the trees burst their buds first and where you live.
