I believe this is a correct id but can find little about the insect. Just how common is it,
No interactions present.
I have something similar to this i am attempting to id, what is the difference between the Imperial and Platydracus stercorarius other than size?
The insect I had was about 20+/-mm in length could not find dimension for it on web. However now note that Platydracus is about that length. Does anyone know how big Imperial is please. Colouration about the same though.
For some reason i was under the impression that the Imperial was noticeable bigger, but now i can find no reference to it!
... or even 'head' and 'angular'.

Thanks Syrphus I think you are right the head is different and there are no yellow marks on the head and thorax
Maybe if you agree, the likely ID will switch to Platydracus.
