Crocosmia paniculata
Description:

One of two plants of this species seen on Wirral way; the other is in tetrad SJ37N at SJ34957768.
First time I've seen this in the wild, and giving how sparse the BSBI records for this are it's unlikely that I've been overlooking it as Crocosmia x crocosmiflora.

I'm not sure about species

but members of this genus can be found in various locations on Teesside. They appear tolerant of the lime-based steelworks slag that underlies much of the semi-derelict and recreational land.

Crocosmias in the wild

Montbretia (Crocosmia x crocosmiflora) is quite common in urban areas. I've recorded this from 75 sites.
