Some maintain that it can be used instead of standard kitchen garlic, but to me it both smells and tastes (raw), very earthy - not at all attractive in any culinary sense. I reckon the bears can have it all.
Genus is with a capital letter species with smaller letter Allium ursinum not allium ursinum
