Young American slipper limpet (Crepidula fornicata) an invasive pest of oyster beds in Europe, attached to a boulder found low on a rocky shore, near Falmouth, Cornwall, UK, August.
Description:

I'm used to seeing adults in stacks, covered in mud and didn't recognise this pretty, patterned 25mm singleton at first, but there is nothing else it could be and I have found matching images of young slipper limpets now eg: http://www.discoverlife.org/20/q?search=Crepidula+fornicata
