Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

I have added agreement to Melanelixia glabratula, though ideally I would give it a chemical test.
However, despite lack of comment, the abundant discs all over the surface might have caused some thought. They are a parasitic fungus, probably Abrothallus bertianus.
The fungus certainly gave me pause for thought.
