"Previous" and "Next"

I've only just realised (after a year) that Next takes you to the previous observation and Previous takes you the next observation (ie more recent). Am I the only person that finds this confusing?

Just think of the posts as in

Just think of the posts as in descending order of date. 5 (newest) 4 3 2 1 (oldest). We read L to R, so at 3, 4 is previous and 2 is next. I think the original iSpot interface had the arrows in the opposite sense (previous pointing R and next L). That was really confusing, except possibly for those familiar with Arabic script.

I agree ...

and don't really like the suggested work-around. I count 1 2 3 4 5, not 5 4 3 2 1.
