I see it's all in the legs! I'll change my records to just Eristalis sp. Are there any hoverfly books you can recomend? Eager to learn.
British Hoverflies by Stubbs and Falk is the one, but is out of print (due to be redone in 2013, I think).
There is a Wildguide due out this year...
...but it has been threatening to appear for a while!
