Description:

This damselfly was mainly greyish (an immature?) but with golden sides to the thorax and green eyes. Identification assistance would be appreciated.

It could be a Common Blue, the juveniles and females can be very variable in colour though i am not sure if other species can be similar..

By 'juveniles', do you mean

By 'juveniles', do you mean newly emerged? The nymphs are aquatic, of course.

I think i have confused myself

That's for pointing this out! I think i meant newly emerged, but i'm confusing things... it's just the females that are variable(?)

Thanks, there were Common Blues in the same area.
