Also

Cannot be sure from the photo, but I think there is at least one fissural, as distinct from tuberculate, soralium visible. B. fuscescens has both types; B. subcana has tuberculate soralia only.

But I think I recall DNA evidence casting doubt on their being separate species in any case.
