I could do with your help, Nick, to switch agreement to the new name
Sorry to be slow. Have been away with very limited online access. Have now agreed to the updated name which seems the more accepted by the major authorities now. Dunno how your French is, but this link http://doris.ffessm.fr/fiche_imprime.asp?fiche_numero=424 has some good info and pics of Aplidium turbinatum. Sydnyum turbinatum is listed as one of the synonyms sometimes used, but not valid.

It's now at http://doris.ffessm.fr/ref/specie/424 , which changes it to http://doris.ffessm.fr/Especes/Ascidie-coloniale-pedonculee3
Doris.ffessm is my second favourite site Nick, after http://www.aphotomarine.com/ , & a 3rd is Estran22 though it's 'unverified' by McAfee
However Doris seems to have had a revamp,so eg in google all the subheadings under the main title still don't work; & a few days ago having got into the group " Ascidies composées" there were only about 6 species & this one wasn't there (though it is now). But the page for this (424) does say that the "Lien permanent" (permanent link) for this species is the 1st 1 above
I've found about 30 links for doris in Ispot, many simple species links like this, but about 7 of them still work, which poses the question whether these'll eventually all be re-linked or all be unlinked (ie to correct or not correct?), but it seems a lot of correcting's required.
Anyway on another tack , the common whelk known as 'Sea Snail' http://www.ispotnature.org/node/120786 , which I know you've already agreed ,(my last ID & an earlier) I'd be gateful if you could 'unagree' the earlier ID,just to add i bit more weight to the later
