Darter .....highland or black?

Description:

so much black on the thorax so have plumped for highland darter form of common darter but how do you distinguish from female black darter?

I think the advice from BDS

I think the advice from BDS is that nigrescens is just a form of striolatum, which makes life a lot simpler!
