Description:

The top is of a suede-like texture. Underside like honeycomb. No distinctive smell. From a distance, in the bright sunshine, looked almost red. The fifth image shows what I imagine to be a former/ex Birch Polypore. Not on a Birch tree - see images 6 and 7!

Identifications

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

Hairy upper surface

Hairy upper surface especially when young, often drops of brown liquid onthe surface of the pores as it matures.
