Stange insect

Could someone please help me indentify this strange insect i found in my indoor fish tank this evening, I have never seen anything like it before.

Many Thanks.

A Greater Horntail Wasp, quite harmless I believe. The projection from the tip of the abdomen is for egg laying and is not a sting.

I have no Sting in my Tail :-)

It gets a bad press actually its not really a Wasp !! The Giant Woodwasp, Banded Horntail, or Greater Horntail (Urocerus gigas) is a species of Sawfly
