The legs are important in identifying Dioctria. rufipes has dark hind legs and orange front and mid, baumhaueri has the same, but the front and mid femora have a dark dorsal stripe (which can be seen in your pics).

I knew I had to include the legs, but is the reddish abdomen something variable then and not defining for this species?

baumhaueri has a rather dark abdomen, generally. linearis is the one which has obvious orange patches on the sides of the tergites. I think it must be variable, then, and certainly legs are where you look first for this species.
