Turtles, tortoises or terrapins...

To be honest English is the only language that distinguishes that much between turtles, terrapins and tortoise and only in British English really. These would be terrapins as they are semi-aquatic (turtles are fully aquatic and tortoises fully terrestrial).

In america they would call these turtles (they call some fully terrestrial species turtles and some tortoise). In common French they are all tortues.
