Rockpool Top shells

Observed: 20th July 2012 By: Nick UptonNick Upton’s reputation in InvertebratesNick Upton’s reputation in InvertebratesNick Upton’s reputation in InvertebratesNick Upton’s reputation in Invertebrates
Group of Flat top shells (Gibbula umbilicalis) grazing algae from a boulder in a rockpool, Rhossili, The Gower Peninsula, UK, July.
Description:

Masses of these were grazing algal covered boulders in rockpools in Wales. I think the bold patterning and lowish profile make them Flat rather than Grey top shells.
