been seeing these for the past few weeks, I've been wondering what they are. They really stand out with thhalfblack, half white/clear wings and what appears to be a short abdomen.
There are a couple of other similar species, which is presumably why David did not go for maximum certainty, but Pachygaster atra is very common indeed at the moment. Trees, bushes, grasses...it seems to be on them all, sometimes!
