This needs further investigation. It might be true Brachypodium pinnatum, but equally may be an open grassland variant of B. sylvaticum.
B. pinnatum in East Lothian needs reassessment - it is known only at Yellowcraig, where it seems likely to be an introduction, and it is uncertain whether it is true B. pinnatum or B. rupestre as now recognised, if indeed the two 'species' are really distinct (opinions vary).
At some time, health permitting, I shall try to visit the population shown here.
