Plant in Twickenham Garden

Observed: 7th July 2012 By: Alan WinterAlan Winter’s reputation in PlantsAlan Winter’s reputation in Plants

This plant is appearing in pots as well as on lawn. I'd like to know what it is and if it should be left or got rid of?

It depends on what type of lawn you want if it is a perfect lawn you desire void of anything that flowers then get rid of it.If you want a lawn that creates a habitat for insects and birds for the seeds plus looks more interesting and will not be doused in chemical weed killers then leave it.I have tons of this in my lawn and it is beautiful.

Agreed -

It does seem to be a bit "invasive", but as Fenwickfield points out, it's a very pretty little plant, and I am happy to let it grow in my lawn (which currently still has a "moat" as a result of all the rain).
