As part of my field study looking at woodland I wanted to know whether this could possibly be a Maple or possibly a Sycamore. The leaves had five rounded lobes. The bark higher up was fissured but was covered in ivy lower down so difficult to tell whether it was flaky.

Field Maple or Sycamore

Thanks for your help. My other half said it was more likely to be a Sycamore, and he was closer than I was. But both being Acers I wanted to be sure.
