Description:

Suede like brown cap, with yellow flesh and pores. Both staining blue on bruising. Spore print brown. At the base of a larch, but other tree species (esp beech) in the vicinity.

Identifications

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

Don't think its badius. Might be B. pruinatus or b. chrysenteron

Four names...

...oh dear. I had initially thought this one to be B. pruinatus when I looked through Roger's Mushrooms. I then got Kirby British Boletes out the library and got lost in the Boletes - it has it as Xerocomellus, which I had not clocked. So I think I would go for the pruinatus option.
