Mining bee for id please

These bees are nesting in a sandy roadside bank bordering woodland. They are fairly small bees (about 1cm) and hover for short periods around the nest holes.
Any idea which species it is?

    Likely ID
    Colletes sp.
    Confidence: I'm as sure as I can be.
