Hawker dragonfly

I have taken this up to my terrace on 28th June, two weeks on the exoskeleton is unchanged (maybe a little smaller?) - how long before the dragonfly starts to emerge?

I think this is the exuvia of a dragonfly that has already emerged before you found it!

This is an exuvia - the empty larval case of a dragonfly. You can just make out the hole on the thorax where the adult emerged and also the white threads of the larvas breathing tubes.
