Thanks. It actually is on heathland (it ran across my pack whilst I was doing a survey on Arne heath!) So is it likely D. littoralis?

It sounds like it might be,

It sounds like it might be, especially if the other species is not found on heathland. I checked on the NBN and it is found on Dorset heaths but I don't know which ones. Might be worth checking with Dorset Environmental Records Centre. I'm not sure if a species id. is possible from the photo alone.

Its certainly dilta, the ocelli at the corners of the eye are diagnostic of the genus, however to take it further would (currently) require microscopic determination.

Distribution of these beasts is a bit sketchy at present. d.littoralis is favourite from habitat, but d.hibernica is a close second, and the full distribution of d.chateri is not yet known.
