Thanks for your help. The other Nettle-Tap moths I've seen this year have had much bolder markings on them so perhaps that's why I didn't associate this individual with that species.

I think you're right about that! I persuaded my mum to leave several patches of nettle in the garden this year and it's been interesting to see which species have been attracted to the plants.
There is a handbook in the Naturalists' Handbook series called Insects on Nettles, perhaps you already have it, if not I can recommend it.
