Description:

Whitetish with grey colouring. Firm to touch not soft. Quite large, growing from lower trunk of tree.

Identifications

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

I think this is unlikely to

I think this is unlikely to be Hoof fungus as lacks the characteristic grey layering and compact er.. 'hoofy' shape. I'm afraid I can't offer to much in way of another suggestion though, perhaps more likely one of the Ganoderma bracket fungi, which are very variable.
