While checking out the orchids in a North East Wales dune system I came across this. Poor condition but the best of several spikes around. Situated on the edge of shallow standing water in the dunes the spikes are around 12 cms high and the older ones have quite prominent fruit. No visible spotting on the leaves. Markedly different and earlier flowering than the Pyramidal, Common Spotted, Northern Marsh and Bee orchids in the vicinity.
