What plant was it on? Any idea. The leaves look glandular and quite distinctive, but I can't place them.

Sorry Jonathon i can't be

Sorry Jonathon i can't be sure what plant it was on- it might have been a st Johns Wort.This seems likely considering the perforated leaves and i think some species do have black glands like those in the picture.
