Yellow flowers

Observed: 4th July 2012 By: spacemousesspacemouses’s reputation in Plants

Each flower is about 10mm. The plant is what I would call- 'vine' like. There is a very similar one that is blue. Very common around here. Grows through all the other heavy growth.

Have you any pictures or the leaves and 'habit'? It may be Common bird's-foot-trefoil, but i don't know if other species may be more likely out on the Isles.

Pics - Meadow Vetchling (Lathyrus pratensis)

Could also be Meadow Vetchling (Lathyrus pratensis)? As BDeed has mentioned, it is depending on the leaves. Can you take a photo of the leaves and update post? Also known as Meadow Pea.

Meadow Vetchling

I think you are right Sharon, you should add the ID then I / we can agree.

Yellow pea-flower.

The strong veining on the standard, the shape of the standard and the general form of the inflorescence all suggest Meadow Vetchling (Lathyrus pratensis) rather than a Bird's-foot Trefoil. The "vine-like growth" suggests that, too. Leaves, please!
