One of two birds, neither of which showed their legs. Nor did they come any closer, then time ran out...
No interactions present.
But I ruled it out on the basis that the RSPB says that they're winter visitors, and don't usually breed in the UK. But who knows?
Green Sandpipers that are apparently northbound can be seen as late as early June, and the first returning migrants (non breeders or failed breeders) start to appear at the end of June.
They have started to turn up locally to me over the last few days...groups of 3 or so. As Roy says, autumn is on it way and they are heading back south!
