Description:

This female redstart used this perch on a regular basis; she'd disappear, come back with a beakful of insects, then scoot off behind some buildings with them. I suspect she had one or more juveniles found ther; if she'd been nesting there, I'm pretty sure I'd have spotted her earlier - I'd been looking for Redstarts all week!
In the first picture she has what looks like a beetle, and in the second she has woodlice.

nesting

I have a pair for the first time nesting in a stone wall in my veg garden. The female seem's to be doing most of the feeding but I have yet to see any young so presume there still in the nest. There is a major problem with this all I do is stare out the window watching her and get nothing done.
