Thanks, DavidSlade, that isn't made clear in Sterling, Parsons & Lewington, and it's not even clear in the illustration; but the two shots on UKMoths show the dots. This species isn't in Manley. So your comment is very useful.
If you are struggling with id's for these small torts, (and who doesn't!) there is a book that is really helpful 'A field guide to the bird-dropping mimics' by Clifton & Wheeler. It's about £15 from memory, and spells out the key id features very clearly.
