Don't shoot me down please. I only ask so that I can learn.
Is the bird at the front of the first photo a black-headed gull?
Yes, the bird in the front of the first photo is a Black-headed Gull and the bird to the left of the Little Gull is a second-summer Mediterranean Gull.
This is exactly the kind of tuition I need and want.
I am here to learn and I value instruction such as this.
Is the LG a 1st winter going on to 2nd summer bird?
I think the Little Gull is still in first summer plumage, maybe starting to go into second summer plumage.
Thanks, the info's much appreciated.
I find that the gulls are almost impossible. I think that I'll go back to calling them all sea gulls :-)
If I keep trying I might get there in the end.
