Description:

On the margin of a farm pond about four years old which was directly behind and others are 100s of metres away. All have Typha on the margins.

You are probably correct, but transfuga looks incredibly similar. I think tergite 2 is narrow er than in transfuga, but the wings do obscure the edges of that tergite, so hard to be certain.
