This hazel has been coppiced in the past but has grown out since the 1950’s? It is an example of many in the area.
The girth/ diameter at the base is 1.90metres, measured at 30cm above the ground. There are 8 large stems rising from the base, some of which have fused together and many small stems around 1cm to 2cm. I measured three stems, at 1.50metres high, which were 63cm, 42cm and 58cm.
