Description:

A small broken flint piece about 4cm long with something (to me at least) odd within it. It looks like a fossilised coral, but can you get fossils within flint? Can someone give me a clue what this really is?

Fossils in flint

Yes, fossils are common in - & on - flints. However, I can't identify it for you & haven't seen one like it. Could be a sponge, perhaps?
