Found on Dead Tree Trunk

This appeared on a dead leylandii tree trunk (tree cut down 6+ years ago). It is cool to touch, soft & feels slightly damp. It grew very quickly, was not there in the morning. It now has (the next day) a dark brown stripe down the middle

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.
