Group of birds posing in front of RSPB vehicle. Quick grab shot so not very sharp.
No interactions present.
I suppose there could be both there, but the upper surfaces of a few wings in total, and primaries seem too dark for curlew and at least one bird has a white facial stripe.
At least a few show the head pattern of Whimbrel and the bill length seems short enough (but angle of shot may not be correct to see this properly).
I have no doubt that these are Whimbrel. The bill of Curlew is much longer and of a +- even curvature. Whimbrel have a distinct increase in curvature which is evident in the pics.
