Eupeodes

A key point in identifying Eupeodes is that the hairs fringing the abdomen are all short and black.

Thank you, Stubbs and Faulk

Thank you, Stubbs and Faulk mention "grey spots and bars on the thoracic dorsum" for M. florea... Would you be able to translate for me?

Thoracic dorsum

The thoracic dorsum is the top part of the thorax, and you can see in the first picture that there are pale areas (grey), which surround a darker patch shaped like a bat (with a little imagination). That will be what they ae referring to.
