Thanks for the id, but I doubt it is a heath spotted orchid, we don't really get this species on Merseyside.
Heath Spotted-orchid has spots on leaves and lives on acid soil. So doesn't fit your photo and description.
Marsh orchid has no spots on leaves like your photo.
Appears to most resemble Southern Marsh-orchid due to shape of labellum (more obvious division than Northern).
