Pale duck

Observed: 17th June 2012 By: annasharmanannasharman’s reputation in Birds
Pale duck (a bit overexposed)

This is certainly a duck, but I can't work out which species. About the same size as a mallard. Brown head and neck with no distinctive markings, and very pale brown/cream all over the body. Black beak. Could be a female or a juvenile.

I'd go for mallard -

Probably one of the many feral/domestic crosses to be found - if you googgle "heinz" or "manky" mallards, you'll find lots of different colour forms.
But it could be something more exotic from a collection of wildfowl.
