This object was brought in to the iSpot stand at the Festival of Nature at Bristol Harbourside. It had been found on an unknown date at an inland locality, possibly carried there by a predator.
No interactions present.
This is the right femur or thighbone, of a seal. I'd suggest Grey Seal, Halichoerus grypus, from its size. I have absolutely no idea what this would be doing at an inland locality - a few hundred yards from the sea, no problem, it could have easily found its way there. I assume by inland location, the finder means at least a kilometre or two from the sea, maybe much more! It may have been picked up by a scavenger, a dog or even a person, who later discarded it.
