Smells a bit like bruised

Smells a bit like bruised young stems of Elderberry, will root where stems touch the ground, the stem are also easily broken. Yes they are part of the Potato Family(Solanaceae).

Most of this family -

Are poisonous in at least some parts of the plant, at some point in their development. I remember dire warnings as a child never to cook or eat potatoes that showed any green colour.
The alien thorn-apple (Datura) is another example, one that is said to be particularly toxic.

That's Interesting.

I've eaten loads of spuds showing green patches, and I'm perfectly ok - at least I thin...
